Sir,

The report on survey of teaching, research and conference experiences of paediatric surgical trainees is interesting. [1] Ademuyiwa et al. concluded that "Trainees in paediatric surgery in Nigeria are significantly involved in the teaching of undergraduate medical students and clinical research" and "This should be encouraged and further enhanced by motivating the trainees to attend international conferences". [1] Indeed, the ways of training the trainees in clinical medicine is to let them have the experience and high level of knowledge. Performing clinical as well as basic medical research is required. To let the trainee join the conference is good. However, an important concern is the fund. To promote joining the international conference is good, but it is usually hard to find the support for the trainees, especially for those from the poor developing countries. Indeed, it is "funding remains a great challenge" for the surgical training programmes in low-income country. [2]
