The report on varicocoelectomy in adolescents is very interesting. [1] Moreira-Pinto et al. compared laparoscopic vs open high ligation technique for varicocoelectormy and found that laparoscopic technique was more effective. [1] Moreira-Pinto et al. mentioned for the limitation due to the small number of subjects. However, there are also other facts to be concerned. This work is a retrospective report; hence, the subject selection bias could not be controlled. It is no doubt that the case for laparoscopic has to be well selected before surgery. Hence, the result in this work might mislead the decision of surgical technique selection for varicocoelectomy.
